Teach them young

Children’s Study Room Design Idea with Modular Furniture

Children learn faster when they are still young , if it is something they see every time in their environment.
Children leave their school environment after school to their various houses and then back again to school the following day. The longest absence from school is during the weekends and then the holidays. To keep them engaged with school work, you need to make the environment conducive for them to learn.
Set up a corner of their room with learning materials and tools. Try to replicate what they have in school to help them to learn
I recommend the following to improve the learning abilities of your children by putting the following in place;
  • Table and chair
  • White board
  • Reading books
  • Educational videos
  • Educational electronic toys
  • Flash cards, card board paper for colouring
  • Plastic alphabets and numbers;
  • Scrolls of different information hung on the wall; It could be letters, numbers, fruits,colours , shapes,animals, plants etc . This is always eye catching and they tend to remember if they keep seeing it any time they are in their rooms.
  • Apps for learning too if you can afford it . There are different apps for tracing letters , colouring, drawing, nursery rhymes etc

The idea is to set up an environment similar to what they have in school so that a vaccum is not created when they are away from school We should also spend time with them to put them through with their school work.
Some busy parents pay extra for tutors to teach them at home after school hours especially during the holidays.A lot of us cannot afford to pay extra money for tutors to teach them at home especially for low income earners. This set up can help your children learn faster if you are there to guide them.
Most of these items are not expensive.
This post is ideal for 1-3 years of age but as they grow you provide materials appropriate for their age.
This should never be a replacement for their toys, watching cartoons for their age, sports activities etc  Always balance all these activities.
Mothers can add to the list or other experiences you have had with your children in connection with the post ,please don't hesitate to share with us.
Thanks for visiting.
