We always want to jump on the bandwagon to imitate both our foreign and indigenous celebrities in all they do. You have piercings done on the ear lobe, septum of the nose, on the eye lids, tongues, navel,nipples, and even on the cli---is all in the name of fashion. The first picture of a swelling on the ear shows what is called 'Keloid' In an attempt to have multiple ear piercings she developed keloid on her ear. The 2nd and 3rd pictures are pictures of multiple ear piercings and that of the septum of the nose respectively. Africans are predisposed to developing keloids and is least seen among whites. It is commoner in females because of the multiple ear piercings and also seen more in younger people.
Please before attempting to have any piercing on any part of your body, you must find out the following;
1. Are there scars on your body either from previous injuries or surgical incisions that have developed keloids?
2. Are there members of your family that have keloids on their bodies?
It becomes very expensive and difficult to get rid of keloids once they are developed and also you are faced with complications that comes with the therapy. Remember beauty is only skin-deep.
Stay healthy guys.
