Be on the alert!!!

The day was going on well not until around past the hour of 8.00 at night, when a female patient walked into the consulting room accompanied by 2 men. Her hair was looking unkempt. I just couldn't wait to start taking my history to know what to do for her.
Patient; Good evening ma
Doc; How are you? Do sit down. What is the problem?
Patient ; I just thank God for my life today
Doc ; What happened ?At that moment I paused a bit and was curious to know what happened.
Patient: I was raped by 2 armed robbers
Doc; Am so sorry . What actually happened?
Patient; I visited my cousins and on way back , I boarded a taxi to take me back home. As we got to the highway, I noticed that somebody was trying to come out of the booth into the car. He had a gun in his hand , he asked me not to shout otherwise he will kill me. They took me to a place where they collected my gold necklace, ear rings, bracelet, wrist watch, phones, the money in my wallet, luckily for me I didn't have my ATM cards in my wallet. There was a woman among the gang, she was the one that loosened my human hair from my head and collected it.
We had to run some tests for her , gave her some medications and started her on PEP .Sometimes these brutes could push you out of a moving vehicle.Patients could present with bruises , lacerations on the body or even fractures. Cases like these increase during festive periods. This happens frequently in Abuja city when you take drop.
Security tips:

  • Always board a registered taxi that the booth is not connected to the interior of the car.
  • Always ask the driver to open the booth to check if anybody is hidden in the booth
  • Always ask the driver to switch on the inner lights to check inside the car as well
  • Always check if the driver intentionally put the child lock on, so that you can easily leave  the car when you sense trouble.
  • Always direct them to take the route where it is still busy and you are familiar with. Some of them intentionally take lonely routes especially under the bridges where their accomplices are waiting to pounce on their prey. Some of of them know that people have started searching the booths and being security conscious, so they device a means to still beat that.
  • Some of them could engage you in a conversation to know the languages you speak. They call their members to let them know they have a victim to be devoured that night especially those that do not have them in the booth, so decide to take the lonely route.
  • Please always leave early especially if the route to your destination is lonely.

If you have other security tips, please don't hesitate to share with us.
Stay safe guys.
Thank you for visiting.
